Our 25th  Year of Celebration

June 21/10

We had a great day!  An attendee: "I think that it was the best Heritage Day that I've seen in the 11 years that I've attended.."

Weather:  Although there was an initial forecast of scattered showers, we had a couple of sprinkles at mid-morning, then cloud, then glorious sunshine from about noon for the full day!  Not too hot .. not too cold ..  just right!

Parade: our biggest in a while, and went off without a hitch!

Petting Zoo: Located between the HC Plaza and the Church, the petting zoo was a marvelous success, helping  to keep people in the Village much longer than usual! Sincere  thanks to the Morrish Family and the HC Plaza who arranged and sponsored this feature attraction!

Bed Race: We await a full report, but understand it went off well.

Town Crier: I hear that Bill McKee, Town Crier, looked pretty good, and belted out our announcements beautifully!  Thanks, Bill!

Beer Garden:  Not rained out, like last year!  Our "Highland Creek Idol" this year was Nelson.  Runner-up was Marc Walsh. Good fun!

Rock N' Roll Dance:  About 100 of us danced the evening at St. Dunstan's. Late in the day, Barb was getting calls for tickets that she could not fulfill!

Children's Area/ Crafters' Market/Entertainment:  No report as yet on these areas, but appeared very busy!  I understand Ronald McDonald graced us with his presence!
